I help you with your garbage, Spain It is an initiative of the students of the master’s degree in labor legal advice of the University Rey Juan Carlos, which is set up in March 2020 and on-going. Young volunteers’ students seek to help the elderly and those who need it in the daily work of disposing of their waste while the state of alarm decreed by the COVID-19 crisis lasts. The goal of this initiative of the students of the master’s degree in labor legal advice of the University Rey Juan Carlos is to eliminate the risk of contagion from this population group. Participants must always respect the health instructions (use of gloves and mask) and the measures included in the decree of the state of alarm to carry out this function. To be part of this team, volunteers must provide the organization with various information: name, the street where they live, and building number. A group of university students coordinate the groups. People who want to help them just must leave the bags at the door once they have received the note under the door. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many were the people in need of help when it came to essential tasks, such as taking out the trash. Since this project started, elderly people from Madrid were helped in this task, thanks to the net of volunteers that was created around this non-profit organization. Especially, in the La Latina neighborhood, where every day the young volunteers went to the places where people asked for help to take out their trash so they could safely stay at home.
